WHAT IS A PERMIT? by Riley J. Hood - State Chairman

Permit: “1.To consent to allow” p.876 Webster's II New Riverside Dictionary
Privilege: “1a.A special advantage, immunity, permission, right, or benefit granted to or enjoyed by an individual, class, or caste.” p.936 Webster's II New Riverside Dictionary.
License: “1.Official permission or legal permission to do or own a specified thing.” p 690 Webster’s II New Riverside Dictionary.

I would give the short definition of license that I learned from reading the writings of William Blackstone, “Permission from government to do that which otherwise illegal.” If you conceal carry without your permit, without jumping through the government's hoops, without having your name on a database; you will still be treated like a criminal. If you are a veteran, there is a good chance your permit request could be turned down under the guise of a “post traumatic distress” diagnoses.
